What a Hinterland ride is
Hinterland rides climb from the coast into the Gold Coast ranges. Beechmont, Springbrook, Lamington, Tamborine Mountain. The roads wind through subtropical rainforest, past lookouts and waterfalls. The temperature drops as you climb. The air changes. These are the rides where every corner opens something new.

90 min – 2.5 hrThrough Beechmont to Lamington National Park, 800 metres above sea level. Coffee and cake at the Tea House or the full run with extended lookout stops.

About 3 hoursNuminbah Valley to the rock arch waterfall at Natural Bridge. Circuit walk to see the falls from above and below. Canyon Lookout for the Twin Falls view. Coffee at Hinze Dam on the way back.

Questions
How fit do I need to be?
You’re riding, not hiking. Chris does the driving. Some rides include short walks to lookouts. Natural Bridge is about 1 km on a formed path. Best of All is 350 metres. Easy grade. Take your time.
What should I wear?
Closed shoes. Long pants are a good idea. It gets cooler as you climb. Bring a jumper or jacket for the higher routes. Chris provides helmets and wet weather gear.
Is it cold up there?
Cooler than the coast. Springbrook and Binna Burra sit 800–900 metres up. The temperature can drop 8–10 degrees from the beach. Part of the experience.
Are these private rides?
Yes. Just you, your guest, and Chris.
What if the weather turns?
Chris monitors conditions and will contact you before the ride. Wet weather gear is provided. If conditions are unsafe, you reschedule at no cost.
Can I buy this as a gift?
Yes. Gift cards are available. The recipient picks their own date.
